By accessing or using 3 Bucket Budget ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including:

• Free trial users
• Paid subscribers
• Visitors who have not created an account

📱 Service Status

3 Bucket Budget is a live production service.

Please note:

• Features may be updated or improved over time
• We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime
• Transaction categorization is AI-assisted and may require manual corrections
• We will provide reasonable notice for any significant service changes

By using the Service, you acknowledge these limitations and agree to review categories before finalizing your budget.

👤 Account Registration

Google OAuth Sign-In

To use the Service, you must:

• Have a valid Google account
• Sign in using Google OAuth
• Grant the necessary permissions (Drive, Sheets, profile access)
• Be at least 18 years old (or have parental consent)

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your Google account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You use the Service for illegal purposes
• You attempt to abuse, exploit, or harm the Service
• Your account has been inactive for more than 12 months

💼 Acceptable Use

Permitted Use

You may use the Service to:

• Upload your own bank statement PDFs
• Categorize and track your personal transactions
• Create budget spreadsheets in your Google Drive
• Set up email auto-import for real-time tracking

Prohibited Use

You may NOT:

• Upload statements that don't belong to you
• Use the Service for any illegal activity
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
• Upload malicious files (viruses, malware, etc.)
• Abuse rate limits or attempt to overload our servers
• Share your account credentials with others
• Scrape, crawl, or data mine the Service
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service
• Use the Service to launder money or commit fraud

3 Bucket Budget currently supports:

• Scotiabank Bahamas (Main Account and Credit Card statements)
• CIBC FirstCaribbean (Main Account and Credit Card statements)
• RBC Royal Bank (Bahamas) (Savings Account statements)
• Commonwealth Bank (Bahamas) (Savings Account statements)
• Fidelity Bank (Bahamas) (Savings Account statements)

Important:

• We do NOT have direct access to your bank accounts
• You must manually download statements from your bank's website
• We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any bank
• Bank statement formats may change without notice, which could affect extraction accuracy

🔒 Data & Privacy

Your Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of:

• Your bank statement PDFs (kept on your own device - we don't store them)
• Your budget spreadsheet (created in your Google Drive)
• Your transaction data (temporarily stored during review, then permanently deleted)

Our Data Storage

We only store:

• Your account information (email, name, Google ID)
• OAuth tokens (encrypted)
• Your learned categorization keywords
• Your spreadsheet ID (to update your budget)

Privacy-First Design

We are committed to:

• Minimal temporary storage (up to 30 minutes during review, then permanently deleted after export or inactivity)
• Processing PDFs in memory only (immediate deletion after extraction)
• Keeping your spreadsheets in YOUR Google Drive
• Running email monitoring in YOUR Google account (not on our servers)

✅ Accuracy & Reliability

Transaction Extraction

We use automated PDF parsing to extract transactions. While we strive for accuracy:

• We cannot guarantee 100% accuracy
• Some transactions may be missed or extracted incorrectly
• You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted data
• Banks may change PDF formats without notice, which could affect extraction

Auto-Categorization

Our AI categorization system aims for ~90-95% accuracy, but:

• Some transactions may be miscategorized
• You should review all categories before finalizing
• The system learns from your corrections to improve your results over time

No Financial Advice

3 Bucket Budget is a budgeting tool, NOT a financial advisor:

• We do not provide financial, investment, or tax advice
• Budget categories are suggestions, not recommendations
• Consult a qualified financial professional for personalized advice

⏱️ Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service operational 24/7, but:

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability
• Scheduled maintenance may cause temporary downtime
• Technical issues may occur without notice
• Google API outages may affect functionality

We will make reasonable efforts to:

• Announce scheduled maintenance in advance
• Resolve technical issues promptly
• Notify users of extended outages

Our Property

3 Bucket Budget owns all rights to:

• The Service's source code and software
• The 3 Bucket Budget name, logo, and branding
• All documentation, help guides, and marketing materials

Your Property

You retain all rights to:

• Your bank statements and financial data
• Your budget spreadsheets
• Your categorization preferences

Feedback & Suggestions

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas:

• You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use them
• We may implement your suggestions without compensation or attribution
• You retain no ownership rights to implemented features

⚠️ Limitation of Liability

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind
• We make no warranties about accuracy, reliability, or suitability for your purposes
• We are NOT liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• We are NOT liable for data loss, even if caused by our negligence
• We are NOT liable for errors in transaction extraction or categorization
• We are NOT liable for financial decisions made based on budget data
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (currently $0)

Your Responsibilities:

• Verify all extracted transactions for accuracy
• Maintain backups of your financial records
• Review your budget spreadsheet regularly
• Contact your bank if you notice discrepancies

🛡️ Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 3 Bucket Budget, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your bank statements or financial data

💳 Payment Terms

Pricing

• 3 Bucket Budget costs $5/month after a 1-month free trial
• Payment is processed through Gumroad
• You will receive an email notification before your first charge

Refunds

• Refund policy is established by Gumroad
• Contact Gumroad support for refund requests

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Gumroad Library
• Access will continue until the end of your billing period
• Your budget data in Google Drive remains yours after cancellation
• Account data on our servers will be retained for 30 days after cancellation

📝 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• We will notify you via email for material changes
• Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms
• If you disagree with changes, you must stop using the Service

🚪 Termination

You May Terminate

You can stop using the Service at any time by:

• Logging out and not returning
• Deleting your account via the Settings page (click "Delete My Account")
• Revoking our app's access in your Google Account settings

We May Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms
• Your account has been inactive for more than 12 months
• We detect fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Required by law or legal process

Effect of Termination

• Your account data will be deleted within 30 days
• Your budget spreadsheet remains in your Google Drive (we cannot delete it)
• These Terms survive termination where applicable (liability, indemnification, etc.)

⚖️ Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Bahamas, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through:

• Good-faith negotiation first
• Binding arbitration if negotiation fails
• Courts of The Bahamas as a last resort
